The Unspoken Truth: Bioplastics

Brands have flocked to bioplastics or bio-based plastics--plastics based made from organic, non-petroleum sources such as sugarcane, corn starch, wood dust, and more. It's true that these are often cleaner plastics since they utilize agricultural byproducts and renewable sources, but we're misguided to think that bioplastics are solving the packaging sustainability issue.

The truth is that bioplastics are still plastic. They are not necessarily biodegradable nor recyclable.
